Description
Air fryer jacket potatoes are whole potatoes cooked until the skin turns golden and crunchy, while the inside becomes light and fluffy. Instead of heating up your oven for over an hour, the air fryer circulates hot air around the potato, delivering evenly cooked results with less time and energy.
Ingredients
-
Large baking potatoes (2–4, Russet preferred) – starchy potatoes give the fluffiest center.
-
Olive oil (1–2 tbsp) – helps crisp the skin beautifully.
-
Salt (to taste) – enhances flavor and adds crunch to the skin.
-
Optional toppings – butter, sour cream, cheese, beans, chives, or bacon bits.
Instructions
-
Preheat air fryer – set to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
-
Prepare potatoes – scrub clean, dry, and pierce each potato several times with a fork.
-
Coat and season – rub potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
-
Place in basket – arrange in a single layer with space between them.
-
Cook potatoes – air fry for 35–45 minutes, turning halfway through.
-
Check doneness – insert a fork or knife; it should slide in easily.
-
Serve hot – split open, fluff with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
