Description
Air fryer roast beef is a simplified version of traditional roast beef cooked in a convection oven. Instead of using a large roasting pan, you place the seasoned beef directly in the air fryer basket. The circulating hot air crisps the outside, creating a beautiful crust, while keeping the inside moist and flavorful. It’s a healthier, faster method that doesn’t compromise taste.
Ingredients
-
Beef joint (2–3 lbs / 1–1.5 kg) – choose top round, rump, or sirloin for the best results.
-
Olive oil (2 tbsp) – helps the seasoning stick and promotes browning.
-
Garlic powder (1 tsp) – adds a rich, savory depth.
-
Onion powder (1 tsp) – balances the flavors.
-
Paprika (1 tsp) – gives color and a mild smoky note.
-
Salt and black pepper (to taste) – enhances natural flavors.
-
Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional) – brings an aromatic touch.
Instructions
-
Preheat air fryer – set to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
-
Season beef – rub the meat with olive oil, then coat with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
-
Place in basket – put the beef joint in the air fryer, fat side up for even cooking.
-
Cook beef – air fry for 30–40 minutes depending on size, flipping halfway through.
-
Check temperature – use a thermometer: 125°F (52°C) for rare, 135°F (57°C) for medium, 150°F (65°C) for medium-well.
-
Rest before slicing – wrap in foil and let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
