Description
Jamie Oliver’s Air Fryer Roast Potatoes recipe is a modern twist on the classic roast potato, using an air fryer to achieve that perfect crispiness without needing excessive amounts of oil. The recipe is simple and uses only a few ingredients, making it a quick and easy addition to any meal. The air fryer ensures the potatoes are evenly cooked, with a beautiful golden crust and soft, fluffy insides.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg (2.2 lbs) potatoes (Maris Piper, Yukon Gold, or Russet work well)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
- Sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for a few minutes while you prepare the potatoes.
- Peel and Cut the Potatoes: Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly-sized chunks, about 2-3 cm (1 inch) in size, for even cooking.
- Parboil the Potatoes: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add the potato chunks, and parboil them for about 5-7 minutes. They should be slightly softened but not fully cooked. Drain the potatoes and let them steam dry for a few minutes.
- Toss the Potatoes in Oil and Seasoning: In a mixing bowl, toss the parboiled potatoes with olive oil, crushed garlic, salt, and pepper. If using, add fresh rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
- Air Fry the Potatoes: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 200°C (400°F) for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The potatoes should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove the roast potatoes from the air fryer and serve immediately. They are best enjoyed hot and crispy, straight from the air fryer.
