Ingredients

    • Pineapple juice (½ cup) – Brings natural sweetness and subtle acidity.

    • Brown sugar (3 tbsp) – Sweetens and deepens the overall taste.

Instructions

  • Combine base ingredients
    In a saucepan, mix pineapple juice, vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, and minced garlic.

  • Simmer the sauce
    Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 5–7 minutes.

  • Add cornstarch slurry
    In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with cold water. Slowly add it to the simmering sauce while stirring constantly.

  • Cook until thickened
    Continue stirring on low heat until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy (about 2–3 more minutes).

  • Taste and adjust
    Add more sugar or vinegar if you prefer it sweeter or tangier. A pinch of chili flakes adds heat if desired.

  • Cool and serve or store
    Let the sauce cool slightly before serving or transferring to a jar for later use.
