Description
Lyonnaise Potatoes are a traditional French recipe where sliced potatoes are sautéed with onions in butter. This air fryer version achieves the same crispy, flavorful result with less oil, making it a healthier and quicker alternative.
Ingredients
- Potatoes – 500g, peeled and thinly sliced.
- Onions – 2 medium, thinly sliced.
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons, for crispiness.
- Butter – 1 tablespoon, for flavor.
- Garlic powder – ½ teaspoon, optional, for added flavor.
- Salt and black pepper – To taste.
- Fresh parsley – 1 tablespoon, chopped, for garnish.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes and Onions
- Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds (about ¼-inch thick).
- Slice the onions thinly.
Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes.
Step 3: Season the Potatoes
- In a mixing bowl, combine the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

- In a small pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 5–7 minutes until caramelized and golden brown.
Step 6: Combine and Finish
- Once the potatoes are cooked, transfer them to a serving dish and mix with the caramelized onions.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Step 7: Serve Warm
- Serve the Lyonnaise Potatoes immediately as a side dish to your favorite main course.
