Air Fryer Lyonnaise Potatoes

Air Fryer Lyonnaise PQotatoes

Lyonnaise Potatoes are a traditional French recipe where sliced potatoes are sautéed with onions in butter. This air fryer version achieves the same crispy, flavorful result with less oil, making it a healthier and quicker alternative.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 500g, peeled and thinly sliced.
  • Onions – 2 medium, thinly sliced.
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons, for crispiness.
  • Butter – 1 tablespoon, for flavor.
  • Garlic powder – ½ teaspoon, optional, for added flavor.
  • Salt and black pepper – To taste.
  • Fresh parsley – 1 tablespoon, chopped, for garnish.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes and Onions

  • Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds (about ¼-inch thick).
  • Slice the onions thinly.

Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes.

Step 3: Season the Potatoes

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

Step 4: Cook the Potatoes in the Air Fryer

  • Arrange the seasoned potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Step 5: Cook the Onions

  • In a small pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 5–7 minutes until caramelized and golden brown.

Step 6: Combine and Finish

  • Once the potatoes are cooked, transfer them to a serving dish and mix with the caramelized onions.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Step 7: Serve Warm

  • Serve the Lyonnaise Potatoes immediately as a side dish to your favorite main course.
