Description
Air Fryer Roast Parsnips are peeled and sliced parsnips that are seasoned and roasted in an air fryer. The hot circulating air crisps up the outside while keeping the inside soft, creating a healthier, oil-efficient version of traditional roasted parsnips.
Ingredients
- 500g parsnips (peeled and cut into batons) – Sweet and nutty base.
- 1 tbsp olive oil – Helps with crisping and caramelization.
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup – Optional for added sweetness.
- 1 tsp smoked paprika – Adds depth of flavor.
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder – For a savory touch.
- Salt and pepper – To season.
- Fresh parsley (chopped) – Optional garnish for freshness.
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for 3-5 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Parsnips
Peel the parsnips and cut them into evenly sized batons or wedges. This ensures they cook evenly.
Step 3: Season the Parsnips
In a mixing bowl, toss the parsnips with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. If desired, drizzle with honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.
Step 4: Arrange in the Air Fryer
Place the seasoned parsnips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
Step 5: Roast the Parsnips
Cook the parsnips in the air fryer at 190°C (375°F) for 15-18 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Once golden and crisp, remove the parsnips from the air fryer. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
