A Full English Breakfast is a traditional British morning meal made with a generous assortment of cooked items. Typically, it includes sausages, back bacon, eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, and sometimes black pudding. It’s served hot and often enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee. Though it sounds like a feast, it’s quite easy to put together at home with some timing and coordination.
2 sausages
4 slices of back bacon
2 large eggs
1 cup baked beans (canned)
2 slices of black pudding (optional)
4–6 button mushrooms, halved
1 medium tomato, halved
2 slices of bread (white or brown)
Butter – for toasting or spreading
Salt and pepper – to taste
Oil or butter – for frying
Heat a bit of oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add sausages and cook for 12–15 minutes, turning regularly until browned and fully cooked through.
Push sausages to one side and add the bacon.
Fry until golden and slightly crisp, about 3–4 minutes per side.
Add black pudding slices if using, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until crispy.
In the same or a second pan, sauté mushrooms with a little butter until browned and soft.
Place tomato halves cut-side down in the pan and grill or pan-fry for 3–4 minutes until caramelized.
Pour baked beans into a small saucepan and warm gently, stirring occasionally. Keep on low heat until serving.
Crack eggs into the same pan or a clean one.
Fry to your liking—sunny side up, over easy, or slightly crispy around the edges. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Toast bread slices in a toaster or under the grill.
Spread with butter if desired.
Assemble everything neatly on a large plate.
Serve hot, optionally with tea or coffee.
