Description

Hairy Bikers’ Turkey Burgers are made from ground turkey combined with a mix of herbs, spices, and breadcrumbs to create flavorful and juicy patties. The turkey’s mild flavor pairs well with a variety of toppings, making these burgers versatile and customizable. These burgers are perfectly served in a bun or with a side salad for a healthier option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground turkey (preferably thigh meat for more flavor)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for frying or grilling)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Toppings:

  • Sliced avocado
  • Tomato slices
  • Lettuce
  • Cheese
  • Onion rings
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup, mayo, or mustard

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Burger Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped onion, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Using your hands or a spoon, mix everything together until well combined.

Step 2: Shape the Patties

Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2 cm thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 3: Cook the Turkey Burgers

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat (or preheat your grill). Add the turkey patties to the pan and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F) and the patties are golden brown and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as turkey can dry out quickly.

Step 4: Serve the Turkey Burgers

Once cooked, serve the turkey burgers in toasted buns with your favorite toppings, such as avocado, lettuce, tomato, and onion. You can also serve them with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a healthier, lighter option.
