Description

Jamie Oliver’s air fryer tinned potatoes recipe uses canned potatoes, which are pre-cooked and have a smooth texture. Air frying the potatoes adds crispness and flavor, turning an everyday pantry staple into a satisfying and tasty dish. These potatoes are seasoned simply, allowing the natural flavors to shine, and they pair well with various main courses.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 can (400g) of whole tinned potatoes: Drained and dried for the best results.
  • 12 tbsp olive oil: Helps achieve a crispy exterior.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder: Adds a savory, garlicky flavor.
  • ½ tsp paprika: For color and a subtle smokiness.
  • Salt and pepper to taste: Essential seasonings to enhance flavor.
  • Fresh herbs (such as parsley or chives): Optional, for garnish.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the potatoes

Drain the canned potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Drying them thoroughly helps them crisp up better in the air fryer.

Step 2: Season the potatoes

In a mixing bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Ensure the potatoes are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Step 3: Preheat the air fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (390°F) for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: Air fry the potatoes

Place the seasoned potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 200°C (390°F) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The potatoes should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Step 5: Serve

Transfer the air-fried potatoes to a serving dish, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot.
