Description

The Jamie Oliver Chocolate Cheesecake is a no-bake dessert that combines a buttery biscuit crust with a smooth, creamy chocolate filling. Made with high-quality dark chocolate and cream cheese, this cheesecake offers a deep chocolate flavor and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It’s topped with chocolate shavings, fruit, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra layer of indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust

  • 200g Digestive Biscuits (or graham crackers): Crushed for a crunchy base.
  • 100g Unsalted Butter: Melted to bind the biscuit crumbs.

For the Filling

  • 300g Dark Chocolate (at least 70% cocoa): Provides a rich chocolate flavor.
  • 500g Cream Cheese (at room temperature): Adds creaminess and structure.
  • 150g Powdered Sugar: Sweetens the filling without making it grainy.
  • 200ml Double Cream (or heavy cream): Whipped and folded in for lightness.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract: Enhances the chocolate flavor.

For the Topping (optional)

  • Chocolate Shavings or Cocoa Powder: Adds extra chocolate flavor.
  • Fresh Berries: Brings a pop of color and freshness.
  • Whipped Cream: A light and airy contrast to the dense cheesecake.

Instructions

Step 1. Prepare the Crust

Crush the digestive biscuits into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and rolling them over with a rolling pin. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed biscuits with melted butter until evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the base of a springform pan to create an even layer. Chill in the fridge for 20 minutes to set.

Step 2. Melt the Chocolate

Use a double boiler or microwave to melt the dark chocolate. Stir frequently to avoid overheating, and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3. Make the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Add the melted chocolate and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. In a separate bowl, whip the double cream to soft peaks, then fold it into the chocolate-cream cheese mixture to keep it light.

Step 4. Assemble the Cheesecake

Pour the chocolate filling over the chilled crust in the springform pan. Use a spatula to smooth the top, creating an even layer. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set. For best results, chill overnight.

Step 5. Add Toppings and Serve

Before serving, remove the cheesecake from the pan and transfer it to a serving plate. Top with chocolate shavings, a dusting of cocoa powder, fresh berries, or whipped cream for added decoration and flavor.
