It’s an easy yet elegant way to elevate any steak dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 100g (3.5 oz) Stilton cheese – crumbled, for a strong, tangy flavor.
- 150ml (5 fl oz) heavy cream – creates a smooth, velvety sauce.
- 1 tablespoon butter – adds richness and helps melt the cheese.
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard – for a subtle kick of flavor.
- Salt and pepper – season the sauce.
- Fresh parsley – chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to bubble.
- Add the cream: Pour in the heavy cream and whisk until it’s fully combined with the melted butter. Heat the mixture gently until it starts to simmer.
- Melt the Stilton: Add the crumbled Stilton cheese and Dijon mustard to the saucepan. Stir constantly until the cheese has melted completely and the sauce is smooth.
- Season the sauce: Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper to your liking. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a splash of water or milk to thin it out slightly.
- Serve the sauce: Drizzle the Stilton sauce over your cooked steak, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and enjoy!
