Description
Tortilla pizza is a clever twist on classic pizza, where a flour tortilla replaces traditional pizza dough. It’s lighter, cooks in minutes, and allows for endless topping combinations. Ideal for busy weeknights or when you want a low-effort meal with big flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 large flour tortilla (8–10 inches)
- 2 tbsp pizza sauce or marinara
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of choice (e.g., pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, olives)
- 1 tsp olive oil (optional for crispier edges)
- Dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Set your oven to 220°C (425°F) and place a baking sheet or pizza stone inside to preheat.
Lay the tortilla on parchment paper or a flat surface. Spread the pizza sauce evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle mozzarella over the sauce, then add your favorite toppings. Keep it light to avoid soggy tortillas.
Carefully place the tortilla on the hot tray or stone. Bake for 6–8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle with herbs or basil if desired, slice, and enjoy immediately.
